Selling Books
And so, after learning how to sell my stuff on Amazon from Nikki who made oodles of money doing so, I finally took the time on Monday to set up an account and list some books. To my surprise and delight, I discovered last night that I sold 2 paperback novels from my 560 class with Lucia (remember that one, Brad?) I think I made exactly $9.00 after Amazon took their cut...now factor in having to buy padded envelopes, pay for shipping...I think I'll come away with about $3.00.
Alas, the initial excitement of selling has worn away by the realization that I am probably not going to make oodles of money like Nikki. :-)

Oh yes, I remember those books. I packed them up and lugged them halfway across the country. Now, they're on a book shelf collecting dust, and I haven't opened them for two years.
I know if I had three bucks from selling those books, I'd buy myself an extra large ice cream cone and feel right as rain. Just a suggestion, mind you. : )

Use cheaper envelopes--no padding--and send it "media mail," i.e. no "correspondence" and you'll make more, especially if you get the envelopes out of the English office. :)

I did sell one more book, so I'm up to making about $15 total (without shipping, etc.) So long, Wild Iris by Louise Gluck!

What's on your list, Marcy, (or any of you). Maybe I'll make some purchases.
