Did someone say they liked puffins?
Hi all,
I'm experimenting with adding pics to blogs. I still need a little practice at it. And I think I'm going to have to reformat my blog to make it wider. (Any idea how to do that?) But I have some pictures that Jen and I took this summer of the Oregon Coast, Mt. St. Helens, and Seattle. On the pictures of the Oregon Coast you can see where the puffins live, though the pictures are too far away to actually see the birds. What you can see is that the rocks are pretty much covered in some sort of white substance.... : ) Because the puffins are a protected species, you can't climb on the rocks. But even if you could, I'd say all the bird crap is a pretty effective deterrent.

Hey Brad! I really like your blog. Cogiscapes. Very interesting title, and good use of pics. I'm not sure how to make it wider, but I'm sure you'll let us know if you figure it out.

Kids, Just Say NO to Puffin Cereal...
Sorry Marcy, but it's got this after-taste...ick.
& Brad, you'll have to go into the HTML coding to make it wider.
I'm not entirely sure this will work, but if you go into the Template and find * layout
Then where it says #main-content {
adjust the width...you could adjust it to a percentage of the page (like 68%), but I'd fool around with the pixel width first....
Now, I'm not guaranteeing this will work or anything--especially since the folks who create the templates use different coding--but it's fun to play.

I have not experienced the after taste - could be because I like the cinnamon Puffins.???

Hi Lori,
Thanks for the help on editing the HTML content. I had to increase the number of px in a couple of different places (header, main, sidebar) to get the text to flow around the pictures the way I wanted it to. Now my blog is a little wider. That way my posts aren't long and narrow; they should be a little shorter and fatter. Hopefully it looks wider on everyone else's computers as well.
