Yes, Bless Me Big Time

So good to hear that people have arrived and are getting settled in their new homes. As Nikki said, Welcome Back Days was rough today. Nikki and I figured out this was her 11th welcome back day attendance at ISU. Pin a medal on that woman. I do have to confess it was quite nice not being a PA this time around. Oh yes, there was some initial sadness when I didn't get to be introduced with the others (Bob only had time to intoduce the important people: Writing Program staff, new people, and NTTs). The rest of us were not introduced. So much for thinking we matter. So glad we showed up.

The Critical Inquiry thing was brutal. Same exact thing from last year. Both times. Like Nikki said, thankfully we had a table of COMM 110 plus a librarian who felt the same as we as we did. I did manage to sneak away from the festivities and have lunch with Claire at Noodles. Her treat. You gotta love that woman.

I ended up helping Han run the 145.13 breakout session. Now I have people who want my syllabus and course assignments. So I was still a little bit like a PA after all - I just didn't have to haul in the bagles and food in the AM - sorry about that Oren!

One more day of it tomorrow. I better go work on some syllabi. Miss you all who are so far away.
