On The Road . . . AGAIN?!?!

That's right...I'm just getting settled in up here, but it looks like Jim and I are heading back down state tomorrow.

As many of you know, I've been looking to adopt a border collie through a rescue. So far, two of the dogs I wanted have been adopted before I got a chance to really apply for them. Doggie 3--who isn't a third choice, but a first choice out of the latest group they have available--is being fostered about 50 minutes away from my place in Rochester.

His name is Rubble. . . an odd name that his foster mother gave him because she thought there might be issues with his birth name: Trouble. And it appears the name doesn't fit. And clearly she was right to assume there might be problems with keeping that name. He's a smooth coat (so, much shorter fur than sweet Bailey), 4-year-old, pure bred who loves to play frisbee.

I won't say much more about him because I've learned, finally, not to get my hopes up. This is just a visit. If we hit it off, I'll fill out the paper work, and Jim and I will pile him into the car for a few days of camping before we head back up here for the last week of my UP vacation. If we don't hit it off, there are plenty of other dogs desperate for happy, healthy homes.

I really hope we hit it off, though.

:)

Sounds like she's a fan of Ocean's 11, or maybe just Don Cheadle.

Basher: So unless we want to do this job in Reno, we're in Barney.

(Blank looks from the rest of the gang)

    Rubble

    (Still gets blank looks)

    Trouble!

    P.S. Don Cheadle is awesome!
