Comps Update
Hello All,
I received the official letter in the mail stating that I passed my comps. Woo Hoo!! (Doc Savage had given it away last week though saying that Diane had asked him to sign an official pass form or something. I didn't want to jinx everything so I waited to formally announce until I had the letter in hand.)
My question: Does one usually get detailed responses on comps? I didn't. I only had 2 paragraphs of compliments from Doc Savage, one nice paragraph from Claire, and one from Jan. Kalmback wrote "excellent," but notion else. Is this unusual? I guess I always thought people wrote up a storm on comps exams.

Please excuse the typos in my blog. It's freaking hot in my apt right now so I can't think very well.

Extraordinarily unusual - you go girl. If you suck, much like I did, you do get pages and pages of comments.

Nikki's people may have been unusually verbose...or both of ours may have been rather reticent...

Thanks everyone! Brad - you'll do great. Everyone tells you that it's not that bad of a process, but I thought it sucked. It was 3+ weeks of worry, stress, and just wishing it was over, but I do know that you can do it. In retrospect, the best thing for me in terms of studying was writing myself a "practice question" based on what I thought people might ask me. Claire's was easy and Jan had kind of given me a hint beforehand. Once I pracxticed like that, I felt more confident about going into the test knowing that I knew stuff. Keep us posted on your experience.

Well done! As for comments, I actually never even saw mine -- I asked for them, but no one ever gave 'em to me. Of course, that was back when Dona was the grad secretary (anyone else remember her?), and she acted like me getting my comments was violating a state secret or something. Nice to know that people at least *get* comments now. :)

I'm with Rho on this one. DOnna told me I passed and got distinction on one, then I got a letter that said the same thing but no comments. I would have liked to see some comments though. but with Donna it was as if she were giving out some state secrets. SHe should be working for Homeland Security!
COngrats anyway! Now on to the diss
